NEON TETRIS

Modes: Marathon and 40 Lines

Both modes share the core rules, but they reward different rhythms, risk management, and practice goals.

Marathon

The goal is a higher score as the falling speed increases. It is useful for stable stacking, long-term planning, and avoiding a top-out under pressure.

40 Lines

The goal is to clear 40 rows as quickly as possible. It rewards quick decisions and recovery, but blind hard drops usually cost more time than stable placements.

Choosing difficulty

Start at a difficulty where you can reliably inspect the next piece, then increase it gradually. Difficulty should increase decision density, not turn play into meaningless rushing.
